Tell me that politics isn’t one big compromised mess. You folks who are euphorically waving your Romney flags as if Jesus himself were running for the GOP—and who swooned like a Georgia Belle when Paul Ryan came aboard (just as you did for Palin in 2008), you were the ones who were wishing back in December that Romney had just stayed out of the race. And now, you’ve worked yourselves into a frenzy, praising him like there’s nothing not to like about him.
How is it that you had such high hopes for this or that early primary candidate, but now you’ve sold out to Romney? Oh, I can hear you now with your pragmatic excuses about the Buckley rule and how you only have two choices and so forth. But what you’re not seeing is that you have ALL rolled over and let the GOP have its way with you, putting forward and supporting a candidate YOU DID NOT LIKE. And now, you’re all cheering as if you had loved him all along.
The Democrats did the same thing in 2008.
So what’s up with that? One comedian talked about how special it made him feel that his cat would walk over and rub against his legs, as if to say, “I love you! I love you!”. But the guy’s bubble burst when the cat would walk over to the sofa and do the same thing. This is what you folks are like. You don’t have deep convictions about what kind of candidate MUST get elected. At the end of the day, all you practically care about is which PARTY must win. And BOTH parties have put forth candidates that proved to be major disappointments to practically everybody—not serving the people, but the interests of the elite, and CONTINUALLY violating the Constitution, again and again and again. That’s what both Obama and Romney are anxious to do. And YOU are chanting and cheering and adoring as if they were exactly the opposite of what they are.
So what’s up with that?
How many times are you going to complain that you had to “hold your nose and vote for ___________” before you figure out that this system doesn’t work to serve the people? Oh wait, you can’t afford to figure that out, because that would tend to suggest that maybe you ought to DO something about it yourselves, rather than to be the passive and dependable voter drones than you are. Yeah, you can’t have the public getting involved in steering their own government. That’s insane. What was I thinking?
OK, please disregard this post.
Oh, and most importantly: GO ROMBAMA!!!!!
