When word of mouth fails
To ignite a movement
As you expected it should,
Keep in mind
That it is from the overflow
Of the heart that the mouth speaks.
The reason they are not speaking is that
Their hearts are not overflowing.
And who can figure out
Why that is?
But for now,
You can know this:
You have either got
The wrong message for the people,
Or you have got
The wrong people for the message.
And here’s what all this means
Particularly for me:
If only people of high character
Can embrace your message,
Don’t be surprised if you should find yourself
Becoming an activist for the virtues.
They will have to grow into
Wanting
What they
Need.
