They want to find in church
Something important and real—
Some place to belong
And something worthy to be doing.
But few ever seem to figure out
That Jesus had had in mind
To transform believers—
As the primary business
Of his ministry—
Into people like himself.
And they get duped
Into missing the inward
On account of the outward,
While all the while
Counting themselves as
Doing the will of God.
