If life were a contest,
Wouldn’t it be interesting
If it were about who could come up
With the very best questions to ask God
When it’s all over?
And I’m talking about the kind of questions
That really show that we’ve been thinking about things—
The kind that somebody who wasn’t really paying attention
Would never come up with.
But I don’t think it’s a contest, mind you,
I do, however, think that God gets excited when we care.
And I have a hunch that he and the others there
Have a really good time explaining things to newcomers.
