Even if Artificial Intelligence takes over the world,
God will still judge you for what you have done
While in the flesh, whether good or bad.
Even if tyrants and scoundrels
Sell us out completely to the Chinese
Or to the Russians.
Even if a man-made virus kills us all.
Even if inflation starves us to death.
Even if the dollar fails.
Even if there is secession and
Another “civil war”.
Even if you get cancer.
Even if there are hurricanes
And tornadoes and volcanoes
And earthquakes and floods.
Even if there is nuclear war.
Even if the Second Coming is tomorrow—
Or two thousand years from now—
Or two thousand years ago.
Even if you go to church or not—
Read your Bible or not—
Say your prayers or not—
There is no escaping that meeting with God.
There is no escaping being judged
For what you have done
While you were here.
And even so, there exists here
A veritable sea of humans
Hoping that there is—
And worrying instead about matters
They deem scarier than God.
And they will stock up on food and water
And guns and ammo
And cash and gasoline—
And most will never learn
What it means to store up for themselves
Treasures in heaven.
For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive what is due for what he has done in the body, whether good or evil.
