While this world does have its wicked
With their violence and schemes,
And we watch them pour their darkness
On a thousand righteous dreams,
They’re just not our biggest problem;
They’re outnumbered here by far
By the ones who lack conviction
On what good and evil are.
They will work their tiny evils,
Thinking little of their wrong,
While their good is often lessened
By the drive to get along.
And the sum is more destructive
Than the tyrants on the whole,
All because the careless masses
Will not tend to their own souls.
