Not All Mistakes

Not all mistakes are born equal.
Some can wreck a moment
Some a mood
And some a lifetime.
But wrecked moments
And moods
And lifetimes
Do not bring time to a stop.
And it seems to me
That the mother of all mistakes
Is not to learn from them—
Not to care about the quality of ourselves—
Not to carry on best we can
To make the most of it
From here on out.
