I am very sorry, friend, that it was
And idiot, tyrant, scoundrel, or hypocrite
Who taught you about God—
Twisting your view of the matter
And leaving a deep disgust for it all—
But there is still the matter of
Your own responsibility for having let
An idiot, tyrant, scoundrel, or hypocrite
Define your view of God—
You not having thought it worth your time
To vet things carefully yourself.
And so here you are, using the flaws of
An idiot, tyrant, scoundrel, or hypocrite
To excuse yourself for having passed
Judgment against God himself.
And I must gently ask you, dear friend:
Who but an idiot, tyrant, scoundrel, or hypocrite
Would dare to do such a thing?
