She does much
Because there are
Many good things
That need doing.
And she does too much
Because if she didn’t,
She’d have too many
Free moments in the day
To be faced with the things
That she doesn’t want to face
Any more than she must
For not knowing what
Can be done about them.
And yes, the doing too much
Will most likely wear her out
Early in this life,
But what else can she do
But to let herself be worn out
Early by grief instead?―
For there is no champion
Who will come riding in
To save her.
