How long can she live with the liar
Without ever adopting one of
His blameshifting lies into
Her own self-view
Fouling her own
Being with his
Soul-ruining
Falsehood?
And if
She will not
Accept the lies,
Then how long can she
Ward them off silently before
She must make her stand in open
Contradiction, calling each lie a lie―
As Truth is her witness―and yet
Risking him doubling down
With more of the very
Thing she dares
Internalize
No more?
Well,
She could
Never have tolerated
It for even a minute, had she not
Been inclined to believe the lies about herself
From the very beginning.
But that
Was then,
And this is now
And the Truth has been
Teaching her a Way of Life
That makes less sense in the
Liar’s house with each passing day.
