If having been wronged
Gives one a moral excuse
To mistreat others,
Then shouldn’t one’s every offense
Rightly provide his victims the same excuse?
Even so, Mr. Entitlement cries “foul!”
Whenever the bad behavior of others hurts him.
But when he hurts them, they are supposed to
Consider him specially privileged to remain as he is.
But if someone else were to
Consider himself this special,
You can bet that Mr. Entitlement
Would loathe him for it.
He hates them for doing the very thing he does.
Yet when he does it himself, he won’t
Stand for it being called a sin.
