It seems there’s generally always
Somebody trying to take a new stab
At bolstering the notion that
People who don’t do anything substantial
To stop evil can themselves be good.

It would seem that the common sense
To the contrary is just too strong
For the traditional sayings to keep it
Permanently at bay.

And so rather than either to fight evil
Or be labeled as such themselves,
They fight the obvious idea
That they themselves ought
To do something about it.
