They will admit that there are
Struggles in this world,
But they will not accept
That God himself has wanted
Them to go through them themselves
For their own edification.

They prefer a view of God in which
He wants to pampers his children,
Rather than setting them out
In a world with briers and rocks
And hatred and scorn
And a thousand other dangers,
So that they may learn good and evil,
And make something good of themselves,
Should they choose the goodness
In the long run.

Most will think they have already
Chosen the goodness, and don’t
Still have substantial work to do,
Even in their old age.
They will not realize how much
Badness they have chosen,
And that having both is really
Not a viable policy in God’s view.
