He was so sure That the Holy SpiritWas leading him in the thing,Prompting him to act,Making the scriptures clearIn his mind,And driving his conviction—As it had done for the heroesIn Bible times.

What if humans on the wholeWere so dull at thinkingThat God from time to timeHad to create an agitated soulWith a freakish obsession for Identifying and solving puzzles,Just to keep an ember of Enthusiastic cognitionAglow on the Earth?

I notice that I get more supportWhen I am writing to rebukeSome widely-hated evilThan when writing to promoteSome widely-neglected good.

Among the stark and sad realities of this world—Among the hindrances and frustrations thatStand in our way and menace us so—One will surely find his own self.

So, I was wondering:Would if really be so badIf you were to go get some helpAnd actually overcome that obstacle?

His life is woundedBy those times at whichHe abandoned something good—Whether just-begun, long-practiced,Or merely considered-once—Because it was rejectedEither by decree ofHis thoughts orHis emotions.

Each moment in his lifeBrings him choicesAbout whether to walkIn God’s way,Or to walk in a wayOf his own making—Whether to be accountable or not—Whether to do good or not—Whether to love or not—Whether to be wholehearted or not.
